Angela Seifer has found a creative way to help non-profit groups benefit from donations of in-kind services from profitable technology companies. She blogs about advocacy and volunteer groups, while encouraging her corporate contacts to provide free technology services to the non-profits. Since she is a black belt in TaeKwonDo, it is probably easy for her to convince the tech companies to donate whatever she needs!

Citizen advocacy and volunteerism are very important to me, so I was glad to see a link to Grassroots.org.

I like the premise of the site. The problem is it should be organized in some way. It’s nice in that it features various organizations and summarizes their purpose.

However, unless you know what you’re looking for and use the search button on the right of the page you’re pretty much scrolling through a random list of organizations. There are some good subcategories and links in the sidebar section that range from news from various organizations to non-profit press releases.

Therefore, it’s a good site if you know what you’re looking for. Otherwise, there are better organized websites out there to seek out organizations and services.
